This position reports to President/Chief Executive Officer
To ensure that the day-to-day functional control of the security department is being exercised and ensure that the Royal Jet goal to be safe and secure operation is achieved through sound corporate policy, timely advice and effective security performance by the security department.
To ensure strict compliance with GCAA regulations in accordance with ICAO Annex 17.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
1 Conducting threat assessment for high risk countries and flights
2 Manage and conduct security briefing for the Air Crew
3 Ensure that Royal Jet security policy and measures comply with UAE and other host states legal requirements
4 Advise the Chief Executive Officer and the COO of his obligations under UAE and other legislation and of the group’s compliance or otherwise with its provision
5 Manage the performance of security personnel in regards to their productivity , performance and career development
6 Conduct audit/inspection visits when required and Perform in-flight security duties
7 Ensure planned countermeasures are commensurate with the risk to Royal Jet
8 Liaise with the local authorities in regards to Security.
9 Responding to and assisting with emergency situations such as aircraft emergencies, evacuations and security incidents
10 Assist the FBO on all security requirements
11 Maintain a policy for the protection of aircraft, staff and passengers against acts of unlawful interference
12 Provide 24 hour response to incidents, including bomb threat assessment
13 Maintain the airline’s security program in line with legislation and company requirements
14 Maintain an effective investigation service aimed at minimizing the company’s exposure to loss through crime, malpractice and indiscipline
15 Advise managers on cost effective secure asset protection
16 Manage the installation, maintenance and utilization of physical security systems
17 Benchmark security policies and practices through attendance of relevant conferences and exhibitions and through liaison with the heads of security of other airlines and the appropriate regulatory.
Formal Education Required
Bachelor degree from an accredited university
•Holder of aviation security professional manager certification
•Minimum of 5 years of experience in aviation security
•Have attended aviation security related courses
Knowledge of GCAA and International laws of aviation security
Years & Field of Experience required
A minimum of 8-10 years’ experience in Security Affairs
